Austin Vo is a Melbourne orthopaedic surgeon with international fellowship training in all aspects of shoulder and knee surgery.
His expertise covers the whole range of shoulder and knee conditions, from sports injuries such as shoulder instability and knee ligament reconstruction, to joint arthroplasty including modern techniques such as Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty and Mako Robotic Knee Replacement.
Austin obtained his medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 2001 and subsequently completed his training in Orthopaedic Surgery, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in 2011. He then undertook extensive international fellowship training with some of the most renowned orthopaedic surgeons in the world. This included a Knee Arthroplasty fellowship in Edinburgh, Scotland; Shoulder fellowships in Oxford and France; and then finally an Upper Limb and Sports Medicine fellowship at the Pan Am Clinic in Canada.
With a strong interest in research and training future orthopaedic surgeons through his public hospital appointments at Austin and Monash Health, Austin has instructed at international shoulder courses and is also an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Melbourne University.
In recognition of the arthroscopic skills he returns with, Austin was awarded the prestigious Covidien Travelling Fellowship Grant by RACS for his Advanced Shoulder Arthroscopy fellowship in France.
