About Zuzana Perraton
Zuzana has over 20 years of clinical experience specialising in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. She has worked extensively with athletes across local, state, and national levels, including roles with elite teams such as the Australian Paralympic Ski Team, the Commonwealth Games, and North Melbourne Football Club. Zuzana holds postgraduate qualifications in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and has a strong academic and research background, including her recent completion of a PhD at La Trobe University in July 2024.
Her PhD research investigated MRI findings of lateral hip muscle size and quality in active young adults with hip and groin pain, as well as prospective associations with quality of life and strength outcomes. Zuzana has published over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles in leading sports medicine and physiotherapy journals and has contributed to internationally recognised publications, including Brukner and Khan's Clinical Sports Medicine.
Currently, Zuzana is a key member of the Good Living Arthritis Denmark (GLA:D) Australia team at La Trobe University, where she trains physiotherapists and facilitates GLA:D programs for hip and knee osteoarthritis. She also teaches into the Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) programs at Monash University, focusing on anatomy, research methods, and exercise prescription.
With a special interest in treating hip and groin injuries, Zuzana continues her clinical work at SportsMed Biologic and as Head Physiotherapist for the Vic Metro Girls AFLW Squad.
